Six former shipyard workers claimed that they were suffering from asbestosis and asbestos-related pleural disease caused by their workplace exposure to asbestos over a 30-year period.
Defense counsel Edward Hugo called no witnesses and presented no evidence, but relied solely on cross-examination and argued burden of proof.
After a two-month trial, the jury found for the defense in all six instances.
