February 2006. Brydon Hugo & Parker partners Edward Hugo and Donna Maul successfully defended their client, DENTSPLY International Inc., in a wrongful death asbestos case brought in Alameda Superior Court.
Plaintiffs claimed that Dentsply had made asbestos-containing dental strips to which decedent, a dental technician, had been exposed and that the exposure had led to his developing an asbestos-related lung cancer (mesothelioma).
After five weeks of trial, the jury deliberated a single day and returned a verdict for the defense.
