Plaintiff claimed that his kidney cancer was a result of exposure to asbestos during construction of a hospital, at which the defendant was the general contractor.
Defense counsel James Parker demonstrated to the jury that plaintiff's kidney cancer was entirely due to his cigarette smoking and that there was no epidemiological evidence linking asbestos exposure to kidney cancer.
Plaintiff was seeking $150,000.
The jury returned a verdict for the defense.
