March 2004.   Brydon Hugo & Parker’s Ed Hugo and Paul Bessette won a complete victory for the general contractor that had been sued for negligence in a construction accident case tried before a jury in San Mateo Superior Court.    After an 8-day trial, it took the jury only 30 minutes to return a defense verdict finding that the defendants did not exercise control over the plaintiff at the time of his injuries.    Plaintiff had been seeking $500,000.
