Plaintiffs Fold on the Eve of Trial

June 2004.  Brydon Hugo & Parker’s client, the property manager of an expensive house in Orinda, California, was sued for over $1 million in damages in a highly publicized case in Superior Court involving an alleged infestation of rats at the rental property.  In early June, on the day before the trial was to get underway, plaintiffs agreed to dismiss their complaint for a waiver of costs - a complete and satisfying victory for the defendant.  After a lengthy discovery process in which over a dozen medical experts were deposed, Brydon Hugo & Parker lawyers clearly established that there was no medical basis for the claim, there was no infestation of rats at the property, and thus no liability on the part of the property manager.  The Brydon Hugo & Parker trial team was led by Jim Parker.
