BHP Partner Brian H. Buddell has been chosen by the Primerus Defense Institute ("PDI") to serve a third consecutive term as a member of its Transportation Executive Committee.
Having been first appointed to the committee in 2008, Mr. Buddell continued his service in 2009 before being named to serve as its first-ever three-term member in 2010.
The Primerus Defense Institute--of which BHP is a long-time member--is an international alliance of approximately 140 top-quality, independent law firms in over 100 cities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
All member law firms are pre-screened and audited annually for their commitment to excellence in six key areas including integrity, reasonable fees and excellent work product.
The Transportation Executive Committee ("TEC") is a division of PDI which works in concert with industry representatives--including most major U.S. trucking firms--to develop standards of practice among member law firms for the handling of trucking cases.
The TEC also works to provide a means for member firms and trucking industry representatives to share information and expertise about transportation law. At the forefront of that effort is the PDI Transportation Law Seminar which is a one-day seminar organized and planned by the TEC during which presentations are given by lawyers and trucking industry representatives about practice tips and major developments in both the the trucking industry and trucking law.
This seminar is held each January at a different location each year.
In addition to helping to plan the 2010 seminar in Las Vegas as a member of the TEC, Mr.Buddell was also a featured speaker who presented the topic of "Admitting Liability: Considerations and Strategies."
The 2011 Transporation Law Seminar is currently being planned.
